One Hopkins gas station grew into fourteen locations. Same family, same rule about calling before we fix anything.
How it started
Larry Youngstedt was selling for Standard Oil when he bought a Bloomington Amoco station in 1970. He left the sales job and opened his first shop in 1971, then moved the operation to a Hopkins station closer to the family home in Tonka Bay.
Steve Youngstedt was 7 years old when he started hanging around that station. He learned the business from the pump island up, worked as a technician, then built the systems the shops still run on. He became chief executive in 1991.
The company grew from that one station into tire and auto service, car wash and detail, and collision repair. Fourteen locations now, and the family still signs the checks.
